Between the Lines 2023

Between the Lines is an annual festival that celebrates literature.

The aim of the festival is, simply, to inspire a love of books and reading in children and young adults. We, the organisers, are passionate about the power of books and how much they can enrich lives.

We want everyone who participates to experience the wonder of meeting some wonderful storytellers, to sit spellbound as they breathe life into their words and make their characters dance off the page.

The participating authors are Australian - some local, some from different parts of Western Australia and some from other states of Australia. Each author is different with unique stories to share.

This year, the festival is being held from March 29th - April 2nd. There will be festival days in Busselton, Bunbury, and a Family Day held at Saint Mary MacKillop College.

Literary Lunch With Pip Williams

Sunday, April 16th

We are thrilled to announce that Pip Williams, author of Dictionary of Lost Words, is coming to Busselton to promote her new book, The Bookbinder of Jericho.

Titled a Literary Lunch, this event is celebrating one hundred years of bookclubs in Busselton. Yes, that's right! The ___ Bookclub has official records dating back 100 years! And not only that, but the ___ Bookclub has been in existence for 50 years and still has 2 original members participating.

Such remarkable achievements deserve recognition and who better to do this than Pip Williams, given the Dictionary of Lost Words, like The Bookbinder of Jericho, is about the power of words and books and has been a standout choice for bookclubs since its publication.

Beth has been very fortunate to receive an advanced reading copy of The Bookbinder of Jericho. Go to the Upcoming Releases tab of the Staff Picks page to read her review.
